Precision Machining
While specializing in Screw Machine Products, we also have extensive CNC, Swiss turning, Centerless Grinding, Broaching, and additional machining capabilities.
Screw Machining
With over 40 Acme Gridley screw machines, we can machine bar stock from ½” to 3-1/2” diameters in a variety of materials. We have both 6 and 8 spindle machines with the ability to maintain tight tolerances at high volumes.
Swiss Turning
Charleston Metal Products recently expanded our capabilities to include CNC Swiss Machining. CNC Swiss Screw Machining is very competitive at producing small, high precision parts quickly. The ability to produce medium to high volume parts that have long length-to- diameter ratios while maintaining consistency and tight tolerances allows us another way to offer valuable service to our customers. We have the capability to machine materials up to 1-1/4" in diameter.
CNC Machining
A diverse range of CNC capabilities are offered with our vertical machining centers, turning centers, lathes, drilling, and tapping equipment. Our CNC milling and turning centers offer a diverse range of capabilities for complex products with tight tolerances. In addition to offering secondary support to our screw machines, we offer machining services for casting, forgings, and other customer supplied products.
Centerless Grinding
Infeed and high volume through feed capabilities enable us to maintain tight tolerances and low micro finishes to your specifications.
Automation
Robotic process automation by our skilled staff leads to reduced costs and improved productivity by our production team. Our engineering staff is experienced in designing and programming machine cells to improve efficiency and consistency with repetitive functions such as part loading and dimensional inspection.
Secondary Operations
Broaching equipment capable of: face, saddle, index saddle, notch and internal broaching is available. Cleanliness Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Parts washing, EDM and 3D Printing are available on site as well.
Support Services
A full range of support services are available to fulfill customer requirements. In addition to internal
capabilities, we have established valuable relationships with vendors to provide value added services.
Shipping & Warehouse Services
A 26,000 sq. ft. warehouse and shipping space allows for customer stocking programs and efficient packaging and shipping of your product. We are EDI capable, can issue advance ship notices and have complete barcoding services to meet your specifications. Our small fleet enhances our ability to work with subcontractors efficiently. A large raw material warehouse in both facilities enables us to handle mill quantity shipments of bar stock for cost efficiency.
Rebuild & Retool
In house ability with experienced staff to repair, rebuild, and fabricate machinery and support equipment allows us to react quickly to your specialized needs. In house Acme Gridley rebuilds, machinery cells, automated loading and gaging, and customized equipment builds are just some of the projects we take on to create the most efficient processes for your products.
Subcontracted Services
Relationships with local sources for a variety of plating, heat treating, injection molding, and other resources to complete your machined parts needs.
